Norfolk Youth Soccer Massachusetts

Welcome

Welcome!

At Norfolk Youth Soccer we want to provide a positive soccer experience to as many kids as possible. We offer opportunities for kids from pre-school through high school and from beginners to advanced players.

Helpful tips:

  • REGISTRATION
    •  Register online and on time to avoid late fees (if applicable). Due to the large size of our program, we need a lot of time for our volunteers to organize teams before the start of the season. This means registration deadlines come up sooner than you think, so mark your calendars.
  • FIELDS
    •  All games and practices are played at the Pond Street Recreation facility at 33 Pond St., Norfolk
  • PRACTICES AND GAMES
    • At the first practice/game, please notify your child’s coach of any health issues or concerns that you feel the coach should be aware of.
    • Please be sure to you send your child with plenty of water to all games and practices!. And don’t forget the sunscreen and bug repellent!
    •  Check your email for coach and league communications. Most of our communications are sent via email (including registration reminders). If we don’t have the right email for you and/or your family, you may miss an important update
    • Games are not necessarily cancelled due to rain. Your child’s coach should call you to notify you of any game or practice cancellations or a mass email will be sent out.
    • Please be on time to all games and practices. If you are unable to attend a game or practice, please let the coach know as soon as possible.
    • If you are not staying for the game/practice, please do not drop your child off without first checking in with the coach. Be sure to leave an emergency contact phone number with the coach.
    • Please be on time for pickup after practice. If your child is getting picked up by someone other than yourself, please inform the coach beforehand.
  • SOCCER GEAR
    • Try on those cleats before the first practice. Cleats or sneakers should fit properly and shoelaces should be tightly tied.
    • Shin guards are mandatory for all games and practices.  All long hair must be tied back during games and practices. Dangling jewelry may not be worn during games or practices.
    • Children wearing any cast or brace will not be allowed to play in games/scrimmages.
    • Be sure your child wears their assigned team jersey to all games. (Jersey may be worn over other clothes but must always be visible)
  • GET INVOLVED
    • Play soccer together – even if you’re unfamiliar with soccer, your kids get the most out of actually playing with the ball, so get out there and kick the ball around. It's a great way to spend time together!
    • We always need help with coaching, coordinating age groups, and events —just let us know your interests
    • We welcome your input at any time, your feedback guides our future decisions. Email us at [email protected] OR "Like" us on Facebook.
  • SPORTSMANSHIP
    • Sportsmanship applies to parents, coaches, spectators and players. Everyone is responsible for maintaining good behavior on and off the fields and showing respect when dealing with other parents, players, coaches, and referees. Your positive example is vital to a positive experience for all.
ATTITUDES ARE CONTAGIOUS!

Mass Youth Soccer has developed and produced an outstanding video focusing on the issues of sideline behavior of adults, and specifically on how that behavior is affecting the retention of qualified referees. While many have talked about the issue of adult sideline behavior, Mass Youth is the only organization to turn the talk into a valuable tool that teams, towns, clubs and leagues can put into immediate use to help curb unwanted noise along the sidelines.
